About Us
Environment New Jersey Research & Policy Center
Clean water to drink and clean air to breathe; healthy beaches, lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that don’t pollute and never run out — all this should be the heritage we leave to future generations. Our staff research the issues, educate the public, and win tangible results.
About Us
RESEARCH
Investigating problems and crafting solutions
Finding solutions for the Shore: Right now, the Shore is hurting. Years of reckless development mean more of our coastal waters — especially in our bays — are under stress, as polluted run-off funnels into our waters after big rainstorms. What does that mean? It means more of our coastal and bay beaches are closed, or should be closed.
EDUCATION
Educating the public and making our voices heard
Cleaner water for New Jersey: In 2006, we informed New Jerseyans then convinced former Gov. Jon Corzine to expand vegetative buffers to include all waterways statewide. This new regulation will not only prevent all the state’s waterways from becoming more polluted by encroaching development, but will also help prevent flooding.
